My Own Wisdom Tale – Nikki and Angel by Sarah K

Once there were two girls who couldn’t be more different. Angel had long wavy blond hair, fair skin, and light green eyes. She always wore extravagant dresses and jewelry. She very much resembled an angel or a princess. However, Nikki was the complete opposite. She had cropped straight dark brown hair and cobalt blue eyes. She had never stepped in a dress or skirt in her life. She always wore shorts or jeans, usually ripped from skateboarding.

But Angel, who looked like the nicest and prettiest girl in the world, had a nasty temper and was very irascible. Nikki, who looked and dressed like a punk rock skater, was easily the nicest girl in town, was patient, and had all the good traits, except for her appearance.

One day, a director named Pete wanted to make a movie so he came to town, looking for an actress. He had no idea how the actress was going to look like, but he wanted either a princess or a rough-and-tumble tomboy. Pete found the two perfect girls, Angel and Nikki, and asked them if they wanted to act in a movie. Angel, who wanted as much attention as possible, said yes immediately. Nikki thought it’d be fun so after thinking about it, she agreed.

The next day they went to shoot a scene. Angel wanted to do everything so she took charge and tried to make everyone do what she told them to. Nikki went around and helped everyone and tried to make people happy. The director realized that Angel was uncooperative and hard to work with. He seriously considered cutting her from the movie but decided to give her another chance. She didn’t change a bit so Pete had to fire her. He’d make Nikki the main character. She was a very good actress and cooperative. She starred in an action movie that became the best-selling movie of all time.

She didn’t boast about it but many people recognized her. She was modest and didn’t say much about it unless people asked. She could have had a very well paid career in acting but Nikki decided that she’d had enough and went on to live a quiet life.

The moral of this story is that looks aren’t everything and always be nice.
