When Steven Thomas finds out that his girlfriend, Susan Carol Anderson, is going to the US Open as a reporter for her county newspaper, he is happy for her. When he finds out that he can go to the Open and also go as an assistant for columnist Bobby Kelleher and stay with Susan Carol and her uncle, he is thrilled.
