I am a student at Durham Academy and a big change happened at our school this year. Everyone at the Durham Academy Middle School, each got their own iPad!

I personally think it is a good way to stay organized. But one part of my brain thinks it is a distraction for many kids. If you are using it for an educational purpose, such as taking notes, writing homework, or completing homework, it is a good tool. But if you are using it as a toy, such as playing games, taking silly pictures, or doing anything inappropiate, I think it as a distraction.

Our school technology department has already put restrictions to the iPads and put only educational purposed apps, which is good. But other people have still found out a way to use it as a toy. The apps I like are the ‘Reminders’ for writing down homework, ‘Evernote’ for writing down notes, and ‘Brainpop’ for fun but educational videos about any subject in school. These apps can help you get organized and learn. Overall, these iPads can be good or bad, it depends on how you use it.
