The Ugly Flamingo

On a hot summery day in Florida, there was a black and gray flamingo. He wasn’t pink and pretty like the other flamingos and always felt left out because the other flamingos were so bright with such pretty colors. The pink flamingos made fun of him because he was a black and gray flamingo and also he had no family at all. The black and gray flamingo would just be alone while the rest were with their families which always made him cry. The black and gray flamingo tried to be nice to others and be their friend but they just bullied him and stayed away from him because they thought that they were going to become ugly if they got too close to him. One day their was a man who came by the ocean where the flamingos lived. He had glasses, a camera, and a notebook. He looked at each one of the flamingos and hoped that one of them was the rare flamingo he was searching for. The flamingos showed him their best poses, letting him see their beautiful pink feathers. He had finally seen each one of them and was about to give up until he saw the black and gray flamingo bathing in the water. The man walk towards the flamingo with excitement and started taking many pictures and writing down things on his piece of paper. The pink flamingos with their beautiful feathers starting talking about what was going on. “He isn’t beautiful like the rest of us! Why is he getting his picture taken?” The others agreed and started to wonder. Soon after the man took out his phone to call somebody. He said to the person how he finally found the rarest and most valuable flamingo in the world! After a couple people came following to hundreds then to thousands to come and see the most rarest flamingo in the world while not a single person came to look at the pink ones with their colorful feathers. While the black dull flamingo was getting his picture taken with surprise, one of the pink ones said in disappointment, ” I wish I wasn’t so mean to him, even though he isn’t pretty like us, others see the beauty in him.”
